Attended PGR mission in Parkersburg, WV today. The KIA was Special Operations Chief Nicholas “Nick” Null, 31. Battled rain on the way there. But, it cleared up for the services and was a nice ride home this evening.
Helped out with an information table today for The Patriot Guard Riders at an event at Cabela’s in Wheeling held by Boatsie’s Boxes to show appreciation for veterans and current military.
I’ve been working on getting a website up for the WV Patriot Guard. It is now live. I will be making some adjustments, tweaks, and additions over the next couple of weeks; including plans for a mobile/iPhone version. The URL is: www.wvpatriotguard.org
I did a Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) mission today in New Martinsville, WV. One of the members from Pennsylvania was there and brought this photo to give to me. He told me that a police officer friend of his was at the Memorial Day ceremony at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies and took photos of the PGR on that day. He had prints made and gave them to our member to pass out to us.
I thought that was quite nice and the photo turned out good. I’ve modified it a little to format for posting here.
This is how I spent the first part of my Memorial Day. I did 200 miles on the bike today related to this send-off. You can see me and my b.i.l. in the video.

I awoke this morning with the intention of doing the PGR mission in Washington, PA. I made the 1 hour ride and arrived at the staging area. The mission today was a PGR member who was a Navy veteran. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday. He was buried at the National Cemetary of the Alleghenies with military burial.
After the mission, I rode back, got cleaned up and took my brother to Pittsburgh, PA for a doctor’s appointment.
I watched a little tv while I ate, then played COD2 with some of the regulars…. had a nice chat with G.G. and then came here to the computer before heading off to bed.
So… I’m feeling the day and it’s time for me to go to bed.
