I find myself feeling increasing resentment toward some of the people whom I have felt the closest to in the past. As a matter of fact, I am feeling resentment toward some people whom I have not been so close, too.
I’ve always said that if you think everything is racist, you can make everything racist. If you think of everything in terms of race, then you are a true racist. Lorraine Rees is a racist.
From “Tongue Tied” by Scott Norvell:
The mother of a primary school student in the United Kingdom is calling her local school culturally insensitive because it cast the boy, who is of African descent, in the role of a monkey for a school play, reports the Press Association.
Lorraine Rees say the Ashley Down Infant School in Bristol acted in a racist manner by asking her son Myles to perform the role in a production of The Enchanted Island. Myles had wanted to play a hunter in the production.
“I think what the school have done is definitely racist and should never have been allowed to happen in the first place,” she said. “It is just not acceptable. There is no way that black pupils should even be asked to play monkeys in any type of play.”
Three other students, all of them white, are set to play monkeys in the play.
So… my USB turntable arrived already! Now to find time to play with it.
I just got an email that my USB Turntable shipped today! Wasn’t expecting that. The estimated in-stock date was in July.
An open note to the silver Dodge Durango Hemi…. I think I made my point that bigger doesn’t really make all that much difference in the real world. Speed limiters, on the other hand……. :->
At any rate, I think my point was made.
I had a dream last night that was a bit disturbing. I was in the driver’s seat of a car and there was a man standing near the driver’s door. He looked fairly normal, in his 50’s maybe…. with white hair. I somehow knew that this man was purely evil. I was trying to get away from him and was saying The Lord’s Prayer, commanding him away, and almost screaming, “Help me, Jesus!” I knew it wasn’t working and wasn’t going to work. I remember there was a man to the right of the car and I was screaming the, “Help me, Jesus” toward his direction in hopes of getting help.
I found a way to get Xbox live for the 360 for $5 for 3 months… plus shipping. So…. I can get 2 years worth for right around $55.
Deer VS Bike
I went for a ride today after the work was finished. My brother-in-law and myself did about 120 miles or so. We made a run to a park around Beaver Falls where some people from one of the motorcycle boards was having their wedding reception. I was invited via the board by the bride.
So, I came home tonight and was just reading some different pages and posts about motorcycles and someone posted the following about deer and bikes. It’s a little much for the very faint of heart, but is amazing at the same time.
After I got finished with appointments today, I decided to take the Vol out and pick up some batteries. Since it was nice out, I thought it would be a perfect short run. I got to the first store and they didn’t have the rechargeables I wanted, so I thought I’d try another store.
As I went behind the plaza to the stoplight, I noticed a large, tractor-trailer tow truck with a 24-26 ft box truck on the back and he was stopped at a particularly bad intersection trying to make a left…… and was stuck. As I rode up to the light, I could see that he was getting out of the truck and trying to figure out how he was going to get out of this predicament. I stopped at the light, pulled over to a parking lot and asked if he needed help. “Yes,” was the reply.
As I approached on foot, he said, “As I start to pull forward, you’ll be able to steer it and we can get it around there.” This particular road he was turning onto is a small 4 lane road divided by a concrete divider. It’s not wide, and combined with the length of the concrete divider, it’s easy to see how he couldn’t get around it by himself. We started moving and the impatient cagers tried to get around us while he’s trying to get forward and backward some so we could maneuver the turn. We **barely** cleared the center concrete when he suddenly stopped. There was a 3 foot high post to his right/my left, which we were simply not going to clear on our current trajectory. So, he walks back and suggests that we try to straighten up, backwards and then we can clear it. So, that’s what we did and we finally cleared without damage.
(At one point during this incident, I noticed a bike go by and the rider checking out my Vol sitting on the side of the road. Shortly thereafter, at another store, a man getting into a cage said, “That’s one nice bike,” as I was walking back to the bike. I get lots of good comments on this bike.)
All the while, I had my helmet and full leather on; which I left on in the interest of getting the intersection cleared quickly. I suddenly realized that I’m burning up! It was super hot in the truck and the leather was just adding to the heat.
As I exited the truck and he approached, he tried to hand me some money and said, ‘You really helped me out of a jam. Go get yourself something to eat.” I refused the money and he insisted a couple times more. I’m pretty persistent 🙂 so I refused a couple more times and said, “Just pass it forward.”
He said, “I will.”
And we went our separate ways. I felt good that I was able to help.
Saw X-Men 3, today. Very good movie. Stayed until the very end and saw the “secret scene”.The split-second they showed the interior, I knew what they did.
