While Driving Yesterday

On Thursday, I had two or three appointments about 45 miles away. On the way home, the last client called and said she couldn’t enter her password. I tried to walk her through things on the phone and wasn’t able to get it working. Since I was only a couple of miles from home, I had to go back yesterday.

Her keyboard plug had fallen out of the socket.

So, on the way home, I received a call from Sharyn about her wireless not working. The first thing I thought was that it probably wasn’t turned on at the laptop. It wasn’t. She checked it and quickly said, “That was it. It’s working.” The cell phone connection wasn’t great, but it sounded like she said, “I’m sorry to bother you.” People will say that to me quite often. I don’t think of it as being bothered. It’s my job. Then she said, “Have a good day,” and I reciprocated and we hung up the call.

This morning, a client paged because their software wouldn’t open and was giving them an error. It was related to the drive mapping. So, I had her check to see if the drives were there and try to open one of them. She opened one and it connected. Then I had her open her software. She said, “Geez, I’m sorry to have bothered you for something so simple.” I nearly always try to remind them that it’s not a bother.

But, it’s sort of strange that so many small, easy to fix things in a matter of 24 hours.

I Rarely……

…. read the newspaper because of time constraints. I might read it once every week or two. When I do read the newspaper, I rarely read the horoscope. So, I was about to go to bed last night, thinking that I wasn’t feeling like sleeping…. but so tired. I thought I would glance through the Sunday paper. And, I also looked at the horoscope for the first time in probably 2 or 3 months.

“The one you long to wrap your arms around is almost within reach, both emotionally and physically. In one rush of feeling, you’ll bridge that last distance and finally connect.”

Uhm…. so…. Since the women in my life have never been exactly cooperative, which one(s) of you Aries out there does that apply to?

Or to tie this to the earlier post….does it mean I’m going to meet Shania Twain? And…she’s going to realize what kind of amazing man I am?

Mmph…. mmph….Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Heck… I almost said it with a straight face.

Or….

Or….

Ok. Let’s go back to hypothesis one. Which one of you Aries out there does it apply to?

So… I Have Problems… Dr. Laura Says So.

Listening to Dr. Laura on the way home today, I learned I have “problems” because I type my “personal life” on my blog. Not long ago, she also informed me I am a “loser” because E-harmony rejected me. There was something else she talked about in which she made such statements, too.

I’m sure, being that she’s a professional and all, that she’s completely right about me.

Post-Menopausal Pregnancies?

So….I was watching tv tonight and saw an ad for evista which starts out saying, “You’re a postmenopausal woman treating osteoporosis…” It is filled with women who all appear to be over 50 years of age. Later, I hear a warning stating, “… if you’re pregnant..’ and my brain said, “Say, what???”

So, I looked at the website for it, which is basically the same thing as the commercial.

From the site: “As a postmenopausal woman, now is the time to take charge of your health.” On the bottom of the main page, it also says, “You should not take EVISTA if you are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant, as it may harm your baby.”

Sigh…..

I Voted For A Black Man Today

I voted for a black man today. No… it was not Obama.

I bet you didn’t know that another black man was running for president, did you? No…. even I didn’t. The media made sure of it. I hadn’t heard one word about it.

So…. Yes, I — being the so-called white, conservative/libertarian racist — voted for a black man today. In fact, I voted for one several years ago, before it was a fashionable to be involved in a history making event like voting in a black president.

I had a hard time choosing between Ron Paul and Alan Keyes, because I like lots of what each of them say. I’m somewhat put off by Alan Keyes’ religion and God platform, but I find him to be intelligent politically and economically. I believe he was on the republican ticket, but has since broken with the G.O.P. and gone to the Constitution Party; which I was a “founding member” in trying to get resurrected some years ago.

But, there you have it! I said it! I, the white, male, conservative, right wing racist, voted for a black man! I feel so much better getting that off my chest! Can I start claiming to be a superior liberal leftist now??

My Nephew

My nephew that went missing awhile back is on his way back. He contacted the missing children org and said he wanted to come home. He’s arriving by bus tomorrow. (Sat.)
