Tired

I am tired and have been nodding off, but I didn’t want to go to sleep too early. It’s getting around midnight now, and I think I’m going to bed.

There is a weather advisory for high wind tonight.  It has been raining and windy.  It’s supposed to get more windy as the night goes along.  Then it will start freezing rain. Winter is arriving.

Rough Night

I had a rough night.  I sometimes have a hard time with my legs itching during the night.  It happens more in the winter.  It got worse after the shower was put in. I have tried all kinds of things; including moisturizing shower soap, watching the water temperature, using lotions, watching that my socks don’t cut my circulation, etcetera. I sometimes think that it’s worse when I have long-johns on for the cold temps. They really tormented me last night, despite the fact that I used a medicated lotion on them before I went to bed. They were itching just a little and I thought I might prevent the full blown attack.  It didn’t work.  I woke up more than once with them itching and I have discovered that I had scratched them bloody in my sleep. Ugh.

After finally going back to sleep sometime near dawn, I finally slept.  But, that sleep was full of dreams.  One part involved the family farm, llamas, an antique bicycle, Rhillai and his wife and a future child,  Rhillai’s vehicle with a grey crusty shell over it……. and more.

And I have to work today.

Love and Marriage

I spent quite a bit of time today doing some analog-to-digital conversion of audio for use in a dissolution of marriage legal proceeding.

It makes me revisit the question on the existence of love, honesty, and commitment. It makes me fear the idea of getting so involved with someone to the point that you offer them your complete vulnerability.

But, in a strange way, it makes me think that there MUST be some true people out there… and if there are…. could I not find one that would love me in a “true love” fashion?

Serendipity, Coincedence, Timing, Karma, Fate………

Hmmmm……..

So… yesterday I had to deal with things at the bank.  I met Amy Grant.  Not… not THE Amy Grant.  But, in the afternoon, I was headed for an appointment and the XM advertised the start of the holiday music channels.  They mentioned…. Amy Grant. I go to my appointment and while I was waiting for something on the computer I was working on, there was a soundtrack CD laying by the monitor.  I looked at it and noticed a song by….. Amy Grant.  I looked over and noticed another CD that was a compilation of rock songs.  So, I opened the case to see which songs were on it. And instead of being the compilation cd…. it was a cd by…….. Amy Grant.

Today, I was leaving a place for the drive home and as soon as I got in the car, XM was advertising a political ad for Ron Paul. I drove about…….1/4 mile and there was a Ron Paul sign in a yard.  After the commercials went off…. a talk-show came back on and the topic was………. Ron Paul.

Saturday Guitar Whompin’

So… on Saturday, my nephew (appr. 11 y.o.) stayed over night and my other nephew (appr. 17 y.o.) visited.  They both wanted to show up the Old Guy at Guitar Hero II.  Well… the brief time I challenged them and was beaten was when we tried two players with one guitar.  The fact that I was using a regular controller seemed to have been pure excuse-making on the part of Old Guy.  Because, everyone knows that Old Guy isn’t able to play as well and as quickly as aforementioned Young Whippersnappers.

In the interim between last Old Guy whuppin’ and new Saturday challenge, said Old Guy found a cheap guitar on ebay.  The properly equipped Old Guy version 2 soundly whupped both Young Whippersnappers; even when he was playing on “Medium” setting and they were on “Easy” setting.

Aha!  Redemption!   And said young’uns have a newfound respect for Old Guy’s Rockin’ skillz.

Just For Those With Lower Cognitive Powers

Here’s a little lesson in logic. Just suppose a person walks up to you with a mask and a gun and says, “I’m not a robber and you should never give your wallet to anybody; but give me your wallet.”  Would you believe them?

Well… the phishers expect you to believe them when they tell you that they aren’t thieves and you should never listen to phishers.

Here’s an email I received this morning.

Dear business/corporate customer

It’s almost funny.  The bad part is: some people will fall for this and go put their information in the phishing site.

Well……..

… here I am at nearly 2 o’clock…. tired, but not feeling like sleep.  Yuck.  I need to take care of business in the morning and I have quite a few things to do….. but just can’t get the brain to shut down. I suppose I would have a better chance if I put my body in bed and tried to sleep.  I need the sleep.  So, I think I’m going to try it.
